Professor Xiaohua Tony Hu from Drexel University in the United States gave academic reports to lab teachers and students
On May 16, 2017, at the invitation of Dean Bin Hu, Professor Xiaohua Tony Hu of Drexel University in the United States brought a report entitled “Big Data Analysis and Mining in Microbiome” to the teachers and students of the Academy of Information, in Room 406 of Feiyun Building, Vice President Zhixin Ma presided over this academic report. All the teachers and graduate students of the laboratory participated in the report.
Professor Xiaohua Tony Hu first talked about the significance of big data research in the microbial group and the opportunities and challenges facing the academic community from the background of microbiology. Next, he introduced the current status and results of big data research in the microbial group, focusing on how to mine and integrate data and how to visualize the data. After the introduction of the main content, he had a heated discussion with the teachers and students on the issues related to big data.
Professor Xiaohua Tony Hu’s wonderful report won the warm applause of the teachers and students, and more importantly, it further stimulated the thinking of teachers and students on the status quo and development of big data and interdisciplinary. Through this report, the teachers and students have enriched their professional knowledge and broadened their academic horizons, clarifying the direction of future study and research.
